For those that know Ann well, she is passionate about doing her bit for the community and supporting worthy causes. Each year, Ann gets her running shoes on to raise funds for a charity of her choice and this year is no different.
It was planned for Ann to participate in a local 10K charity run, however COVID-19 has put pause to sporting events so instead, she will be pounding the pavements every day in December in aid of the Miscarriage Information Support Service (MISS).
Ann will be running 5K the whole of December including Christmas Day where she will be wearing a Santa suit!
MISS raise awareness of miscarriage and support anyone (no matter their background, age or gender) suffering from their loss. They actively encourage individuals to speak out and be open about their experience and gain new friends from attending group sessions.
Ann commented: “I chose to run for MISS after meeting the wonderful Abi Clarke at a recent networking event, where she told her story and experiences of why she set up MISS.”
“I felt a huge emotional connection listening to her story and decided I would love to help in my own way to support the non-profit organisation that needs all the help they can get.”
“Usually, I take part in running events as I love the camaraderie, but this can’t happen right now. I still wanted to do something so changed it up this year and I’m delighted with the support I’ve seen so far. Many of my family and friends as well as my wider network plan to run with me throughout December so there will still be plenty team spirit.”
Stay tuned for more updates!
